I believe that did happen. No NFL team wants to admit they have a bad player and that they made a huge mistake. By them accepting the money back they would have admitted that. What I don't understand is why they didn't because they aren't a very wealthy team and they probably could have used the extra cash to get some better players.
Javon, what went wrong in Oakland?
